Sea and me.

In our literacy group, our learning has focussed on the sea.

An interesting thing about dolphins is that male dolphins are called bulls, female dolphins are called cows and baby dolphins are called calves.

Marine Biologists do research on the sea.

Shellfish are important to the sea because they are food for us.

Seaweed is amazing because you can use it like a fertilizer.

Libby's underwater kingdom.

In our literacy group, our learning has focussed on the underwater kingdom.

An interesting thing about Great White Sharks is that they have up to 300 teeth.

There is a lot of different type of Penguins in the world.

Marine Reserves are important because they keep sea creatures safe.

Ormond Olympics

Last week we did athletics at Ormond school on Wednesday the 11th of August 2021.

I really enjoyed doing the high jump because I  found out that I can jump 90cm and I came third.

Something that was a bit tricky was the throw because I can't throw far and I had a sore hand .

I was really proud of myself in the running because I came second place in the 200m sprints.

I really liked the fun events in the afternoon because we did three-legged races, sack races, gumboot throwing and tennis ball on a spoon race.

This was our first ever Ormond TV video.

Olympics

These are my slides about Janelle Price who is in the Olympics this year.

This week we were focusing on the ancient Olympics and I made slides about them to tell you what they were like in ancient Greek.

For Maths at the moment, we are focussing on measurement, mass and capacity.

Last week I made chocolate chip biscuits for our mass and capacity workshop.

I have written the recipe for you down below so then you can make these biscuits. They are very easy to make because it is just a little bit of batter and if you want a bigger batch of batter, then you can double the amount.

Ingredients:

3 Tablespoons of flour

3 teaspoons of sugar

45 millilitres of egg & butter mix

3 teaspoons of chocolate chips

(We used 3 tablespoons of buttery egg mix)

Method:

Add all ingredients in a bowl and mix until well combined.

Roll into balls and flatten with a fork.

Bake the biscuits at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.

Note: Whisk two eggs with 200g of melted butter for the butter and egg mixture.

They were delicious!
